Actors are story tellers. They walk the stage in costume and makeup, spending countless hours memorizing lines, getting into character, and adopting their mannerisms to flawlessly execute the director's vision. It's a process. It's a passion.
Since 1957, the Bucyrus Little Theatre has seen countless men, women, and children walk across its sturdy wooden stage. Set pieces have been built and painted. Dance numbers learned and polished. Final curtain calls given. All the while, the stage, the platform upon which theater magic is made, holds on to every memory.
During the recent production of "Plaid Tidings," bassist Danny Conley's gaze drifted to the oak boards under his feet. Yes, there were scrapes, old paint, and scuff marks. But what he saw wasn't imperfection. Far from it. Danny saw a rich history of life experiences in the wood grain and stories that are just waiting to be told.
It was Danny who inspired us to take a deeper look at these stories and the cast and crew behind the markings. And it is Danny who will be telling the first story.
STAGED: Theater People Were Here
We would like to invite you to watch the first interview of "Staged: Theater People Were Here," featuring Danny Conley. It was recorded before an evening performance of "Plaid Tidings," which was his second show at Bucyrus Little Theatre.
During this interview, Danny shares how he learned about BLT, his theater experience, and how he came up with the idea that would, essentially, lay the foundation of this new video series.

Danny's is only one in a sea of stories. Since Bucyrus Little Theatre raised its curtain at 130 Songer Ave., so many have performed on its stage. And we want to tell these stories.
If you have been a part of the BLT family at any point in your life, we want to hear from you. Whether you were an actor, helped build set, manage backstage operations, created a costume, or served as a board member, you have a story to tell and we would love to help you tell it in this new video series.
