A resident of Mansfield, Mindy’s past roles include Val in A Chorus Line, Solange LaFete in Follies, and Something Rotten at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield. She has also directed The Mousetrap at Bucyrus Little Theatre. To date, Mindy’s favorite on-stage performance has been the opportunity to play Solange, a no-nonsense, “tell-it-like-it-is” woman who knows how to draw attention and keep it. Mindy says Sweeney Todd is her favorite show, and she is thrilled to portray Mrs. Lovett – a role she never thought she would have the chance to play. When not on stage or working at Kingwood Center Gardens, you can find Mindy spending time with her husband, Darren, reading, gardening, and spending time with friends.

Cynthia, a resident of Marion and Sophomore at River Valley High School, returns to the Bucyrus Little Theatre stage just a few months after wrapping up the summer production of Aladdin Jr. where she portrayed Princess Jasmine. This time around, Cynthia says she has particularly enjoyed the musical challenge of playing the part of Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Other BLT shows on Cynthia’s resume include Beauty and the Beast Jr., Seussical the Musical, Elf the Musical, and Jake’s Women. As a student at River Valley High School, she has performed Peter Pan Jr. Finally, Cynthia has also done shows at the Little Theatre Off Broadway, including Gypsy, and Spamalot, which she considers her favorite theatrical experience because she was able to perform with so many friends and, when it was all said and done, she was proud of the overall performance. When she’s not on stage, Cynthia enjoys attending cosplay conventions and hanging out with her best friend, Sage.

Sage says playing Tobias in Sweeney Todd at Bucyrus Little Theatre has been a dream role of his since fifth grade and he can’t believe his dream has come true at the age of 16. Being involved in theater is a big part of Sage’s life and he enjoys performing alongside his best friend Cynthia. Prior to this production, Sage has had the opportunity to perform as Michael in Elf the Musical, Slightly in Peter Pan, and in the ensemble for a variety of other productions. He has also performed on the Bucyrus Little Theatre stage as Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast Jr., which he credits as his favorite role to date because it helped him grow as a comedic actor. In his spare time, Sage says he enjoys art and cutting his hair. You will be able to see him again on stage at BLT this December when he portrays Snoopy in A Charlie Brown Christmas. He resides in Marion.

No stranger to the stage, Joe has been involved in more than 40 productions across numerous venues. His most recent roles include Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Judge in Hello Dolly, and Robin in Something Rotten. He has also performed in two previous productions of Sweeney Todd in the ensemble. Joe says his favorite role to date is playing Mike in Studs Terkel’s Working because he loved the music, and the character reminded him a lot of his stepfather. Joe also had the opportunity to perform “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” with a quartet on MTV On The Beach. Regarding his role in Bucyrus Little Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, Joe says he enjoys playing the villain because he likes to think it's quite different from his real personality. When he’s not on stage and not working at Brightside Health Online Behavioral Health Counseling, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, Christy, and their daughter, Alex.

Patty has performed in numerous shows over the last four decades, including: Into the Woods, The Music Man, Young Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, Disenchanted, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Kiss Me Kate, Addams Family, and many others. But her favorite, she says, was playing Dolly in Hello, Dolly. As the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, Patty says the experience has been challenging. In addition to the difficulty of learning the music, Patty says the role is outside her usual type of role, which has really made her get in touch with her crazy side. A resident of Galion, Patty works at Covert Manufacturing and serves as vice president of the board of directors at Bucyrus Little Theatre. She has been married to her husband, Dave, for 40 years. The two enjoy spending time with their two children and five grandchildren.

Since her first show at Bucyrus Little Theatre in 2022, Abbey has jumped into the organization with both feet. On stage, she has left her mark while performing in Elf the Musical, Drop Dead!, and Seussical the Musical, where she had the opportunity to bring to life one of Dr. Seuss’s most loved characters, the Cat in the Hat. In Sweeney Todd, Abbey gets to show off her flamboyant side yet again as Adolfo Pirelli, a role she is excited to play because, while small, sets so many things in motion. Also at the theater, Abbey is currently serving as the president of the board of directors and actively manages the organization’s marketing and branding. When she’s not at the theater, you can find her gardening, taking on new marketing projects for area small businesses, and spending time with her husband, Pavlos, and their two daughters, Giselle and Sofia.

As Jonas Fogg in Sweeney Todd, Sam says he is once again looking forward to “creeping people out” on stage and off. Sam had the opportunity to see the revival of Sweeney Todd last year on Broadway which, he said, was awesome. While not Broadway, Sam hopes you will find our production of Sweeney Todd to be awesome as well. Martha has a long history at Bucyrus Little Theatre, having been an actress, director, board member, seamstress, and virtually any other kind of volunteer imaginable. In Sweeney Todd, Martha breathes life into the Bird Seller and has been instrumental in helping the cast learn the music. This is her second time performing in Sweeney Todd, having done the show once before in college. She says she is excited for the opportunity to perform Sondeim again as the music is so challenging and, once mastered, fulfilling. Other roles Martha has performed include the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical the Musical, Lilly St. Regis in Annie, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors, Veta Simmons in Harvey, Linda Christie in Play It Again, and Martha Jefferson in 1976, all at BLT. Her favorite role to date, however, has been Cinderella in Disenchanted at BLT where she enjoyed being a bubbly, tough, silly, and hilarious princess. She enjoyed the show so much that she performed it again a few months later as Pocahontas in at Mohican Community Theatre. When Martha is not working as the director of liturgy at Most Pure Heart of Mary in Shelby, or as the secretary on the Bucyrus Little Theatre Board of Directors, you can find her sewing, crocheting, working on jigsaw puzzles and hanging out with her nephews, Henry, Linus, Oliver, Norbert, Wurm, and Jack Benis.

Believe it or not, Sweeney Todd is Tom’s 122nd show at Bucyrus Little Theatre. No, he’s not a vampire, but he’s had a hand in nearly every production at BLT since he was knee-high on a grasshopper – either acting, directing, performing in the orchestra or designing sets. His most recent stage performances include playing Yertle the Turtle in Seussical the Musical and Lurch in Addams Family. His favorite show, on the other hand, was You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, which was an opportunity for him to reprise the role he performed in high school. What most excites him about his present role is that his character gets to wear a cap. 😉 For fun, Tom enjoys designing and building sets as well as singing in his church choir. A few interesting facts about Tom is that he was once a professional sports car endurance racer and that he has white water rafted from Maine to California and from Quebec to Georgia. (This bio writer won’t question the validity of these claims.)

Gwen, an eighth grader at Wynford Middle School is excited about portraying both the younger version of Lucy as well as a crazy person in Bucyrus Little Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, a musical that she says she finds “very relatable.” Although young, Gwen has enjoyed being involved in several shows, at school and at BLT, including: Frozen Jr., Annie, The Crazy Quilt Club, Beauty and The Beast Jr., and Elf the Musical. In her free time, Gwen says that anything that taps into her creative side draws her in. This includes reading, writing, and drawing.

Perhaps the cutest member of the Sweeney Todd cast is the very young boy, Locklen Meyers, grandson of Cheri and Chris Laughbaum. Locklen took the area theater community by storm after giving a triumphant performance in his second-grade musical. His talent was quickly sought out by Bucyrus Little Theatre talent agents (not his grandma, who happens to be directing the show). When he’s not excelling in his schoolwork at Galion Elementary, Locklen can be found playing Minecraft.
Amber is excited to join the talented cast of the Bucyrus Little Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd and to bring the haunting world of the 1900s Fleet Street in London to life. Her previous shows at BLT include Elf the Musical, Addams Family, Spamalot, and her favorite role, Mulan in Disenchanted. When not on stage, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle, and their Great Dane.

An accomplished thespian, Jim has performed in The Mousetrap, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical, Musical of Musicals, and many others. Jim said his favorite role, however, was playing Patsy in the Bucyrus Little Theatre production of Spamalot. “It was more fun than I’ve had onstage in years because of all the reactions and facial expressions.” Jim is glad to be a part of the Sweeney Todd experience and the opportunity to work with such a talented cast. When he’s not on stage, Jim can be found watching movies, listening to music and playing with his cats.

Fans of Seussical the Musical at Bucyrus Little Theatre will recognize Aniela as the leading “who child,” JoJo, but she’s also made her mark in school performances as well as community theater. An eighth grader at Wynford Middle School, Aniela enjoys being on stage whenever she can. Her previous performances include Annie, The Crazy Quilt Club, and Frozen Jr. at Wynford; Elf Jr. at the Star Theater in Upper Sandusky, where she also participated in Star Kids; and Seussical and Aladdin Jr. at BLT. Aniela says she really enjoys learning the music and memorizing lines. Her love of music has made being a part of the ensemble in Sweeney Todd an enjoyable experience. In her free time, Aniela enjoys singing, swimming, and hanging out with her sister Aleah.

A resident of Bucyrus, Lillian is thrilled to perform in the ensemble and as a lunatic in Sweeney Todd where, she says, she feels right at home. While the music has been challenging, she has truly enjoyed the experience and has made some new friends. Lillian’s previous stage experience includes roles in Harvey and The Pink Panther at Bucyrus High School and Seussical the Musical at Bucyrus Little Theatre, where she had the opportunity to share the stage with her son, Aaron Doezema (a.k.a. Beastie). When she’s working at TC Ohio Properties in Marion, Lillian can be found volunteering her time as treasurer of the board of directors at Bucyrus Little Theatre, reading, singing, and making memories on mission trips.

Emma White is thrilled to return to the Bucyrus Little Theatre to be a part of Sweeney Todd, her fourth show. A proud alumna of Wynford Local Schools, Emma’s participation in high school theater fueled her passion for the performing arts. Emma works as a phlebotomist at Wyandot Memorial Hospital and a salesclerk at Carle’s Market, where she brings the same dedication to her medical career as she does to her art. The excitement of performing this show fills her with joy. And while the music can be (and has been) a source of many nerves – overall it’s been a thrilling challenge that she has embraced wholeheartedly. When not on stage, Emma enjoys spending time with her older sister and indulging in well-deserved naps.
